01 · FREQUENTLY ASKED Qs
Honest answers, in plain language.
Anything not covered here, ask the crew in the workshop, or drop us a note on the chat and we'll come back to you.
Q
Can I put a Fit into this instead of the annual check-in on my Heights Regular membership?
The included check-in is a 15–20 minute look, not the full Heights Fit session: for example, a saddle repositioning. If you want the full fit, you can book it in this website or ask us at the bench and we'll put it in the calendar.
Q
What is considered a walk-in check?
A walk-in check is the small stuff: it doesn't require any disassembly or parts reinstallation. Think about a rub, a gear that won't settle, a chain drop, tyre pressure fixing, or anything simple that can be looked at while you wait, no booking. A Tune or an Overhaul is scheduled bench time for proper maintenance and stays a proper booking either way.
Q
Do The Tune and The Overhaul need to happen on fixed months?
No, you can book them whenever they're due across the year.
Q
Can I cancel the Heights Regulars membership any month?
If it's paid upfront, you'll receive the benefits but we won't provide any refunds. If you're paying for it every month, cancellation fees apply. You can check this in our Ts&Cs.
Q
Is there parking at the shop?
Yes, we have six parking spaces available within the building allocated to Heights Cycling and there's public spaces available on Walsh Street.
Q
Can you order parts you don't stock?
Yes, within reason. If a part is right for the rider we'll source it and tell you what the lead time looks like.
Q
Which bike brands do you sell?
Bianchi, Pinarello, Wilier and Gusto, with coplete bikes and framesets in road, gravel and TT/triathlon. We'll also build to spec from a frameset of your choosing where it makes sense.
Q
How does the Heights Fit work?
A 90 to 120-minute appointment with motion-capture, AI mobility assessment and an engineer interpreting the data. We do the fit, document the position, and follow up two weeks later to check it has settled in.
Q
What's the difference between The Heights Tune and The Heights Overhaul?
The Tune is the scheduled, predictable service: gear and brakes calibration, drivetrain degrease, 20-point safety check. The Overhaul is a full strip-and-rebuild: bearings, headset, wheels, drivetrain replaced where it’s earned. The Heights Tune keeps a healthy bike healthy; The Heights Overhaul resets a bike that has done a lot of kilometres.
Q
Do I need to buy a bike from you to get my bike serviced?
No. The workshop is open to any road, gravel or TT/triathlon bike. If we can’t do a job properly, we’ll tell you that too.
